अनन्तानीह दुःखानि सुखं तृणलवोपमम्।

नातः सुखेषु बध्नीयात् दृष्टिं दुःखानुबन्धिषु।।

Innumerable are the miseries in the world and happiness is like a small grass. Therefore, one should not eagerly hope for happiness which is closely connected with happiness.

व्यालं बालमृणालतन्तुभिरसौ रोद्धुं समुज्जृम्भते

छेत्तुं वज्रमणिं शिरीषकुसुमप्रान्तेन सन्नह्यति ।

माधुर्यं मधुबिन्दुना रचयितुं क्षाराम्बुधेरीहते

नेतुं वाञ्छति यः खलान्पथि सतां सूक्तैः सुधास्यन्दिभिः ॥

Vyalam balaMrunaltanTubhihirasau RodAdhum samuJaJrumBhate

Chettum VajRamaniMm shiRishakusumPrantena sanNahyzati ।

Madhuryam madhubiNduna Rachyitum ksharambudherihite

Netum vaNchati yaha khAlanpaThi sataN suKtaihi sudhAszandibhihi ॥

सहसा विदधीत न क्रियाम् अविवेकः परमापदां पदम्।

वृणुते हि विमृश्यकारिणं गुणलुब्धाः स्वयमेव संपदः।।

Actions should not be done hastily, because indiscretion is the cause of many risks. The one who does actions with carefulness, wealth will itself come near him.
